Trail Report

Still skiing the first week of April!! Five inches of snow Thursday and Friday melting off but still a solid base on the trails with a few thin/open areas. Couple skiers out on the weekend enjoying the late season skiing. A trip around Skaters Waltz and North Loup late Sunday afternoon found full coverage except the top part of Kamikaze hill. Hard to believe how much snow is in the woods when the fields and prairie are mostly snow free.  Skiing a little slow with the warm temps but faster than expected. Looks to cool down tonight with a dusting of snow and we should have some nice skiing the first part of the week.

Total snowfall  this season has been 93″.   We are closed for the season for lodging but grooming select trails until the snow is completely gone. Trails will be open at no charge with no services available.  If you are a non-season ticket holder, please call us in advance if you wish to ski. 218-375-4466 or email at [email protected] Thanks!

North Loup trail Sunday afternoon, April 3rd, 2011. Still plenty of snow for some late season skiing!

Trail Report

We woke up to almost 3″ of fresh snow Friday morning. That makes around 5″ of new snow this week. Winter won’t let go! Getting in the lower 40’s today so the snow was sticky and slushy.  We don’t plan on grooming again until possibly Sunday but the trails are open and there should be some good skiing (for April!!) with the right timing and cooler temps, on through the weekend. Still lots of snow in the woods.

Trail Report

Morning of March 30th about as good as it gets for Spring skiing. Skaters Waltz was hard and fast after setting up from yesterday’s grooming. North Loup a bit softer but both trails slowly softening around around noon. Clouds moving in so the snow should do very little today as far as melting.  Really hard to believe how good the skiing has been for this late in the season. Definitely some thin spots here and there but we are still skiing the snow from last week on top of a base, on average, of 8″ from the season snow!!   Skaters Waltz groomed late Tuesday afternoon, bypassing Kamikaze hill and using Poki Loki to connect. The grooming from Monday on Suicide Hill and North Loup holding out well. The next grooming run will depend on the weather the next couple of days. Should be some nice skiing Thursday morning until early afternoon.

Total snowfall  this season has been 88″.   We are closed for the season for lodging but grooming select trails until the snow is completely gone. Trails will be open at no charge with no services available.  If you are a non-season ticket holder, please call us in advance if you wish to ski. 218-375-4466 or email at [email protected]  Thanks!
