Trail Report

Fresh powder ! 3-5″ fluffy new snow Thursday night/Friday morning. 4 trails roll compacted early morning for total of 11km. 1/2″ to 2″ compacted soft base with thin and rough spots. 13 degrees, light snow falling most of the day on Friday.

Last night groomed our early season loop after 2-3″ of snow had fallen. Was thin and rough but wanted to get a groomable base established for any more snow during the night. Headed out early this morning to find 1-5″ of new snow on the trails. The start area was very thin as result of big wind. Overall the trails groomed pretty good for a first snowfall. The trails groomed last night came out a bit better as expected including Suicide hill. Skied about 5km after grooming and found fair to very good early season first snowfall skiing. Suicide, as expected, was in the best shape after multiple packings the last 12 hours. The back sides of Skaters Waltz and Sukkerbusk were winterwonderland and very nice skiing. A check of non groomed found skiable for classic. We will have the trails groomed open for skiing at no charge. Be advised there are thin areas and a snowplow will most likely push to the ground. Best to use “rock” skis. This is a great start and awesome to be grooming and skiing again! Most of skaters waltz and Suicide hill groomed again late Friday.

Trail Report

Not much change in the weather. Temps not much above the mid 30’s and lows at the freezing mark. We are keeping an eye on the storm to the west and and possible movement east which might bring more snow to our neck of the woods. Still a bit early for snow to stay for good but we are getting closer! Light drizzle most of the day on Tuesday giving way to sun cloud mix on Wednesday. We were treated to some spectacular light scenes on the lake with the sun making an appearance. Trail work on hold with the moisture on Tuesday but should be able to clear leaves rest of the week before colder temps and possibly snow end of the weekend. Overall, things are in great shape and ready for colder weather to set in frost and snow to stay for good! We have also been clearing leaves off the mountain bike singletrack for late season riding and to help facilitate dry trails in the spring. The trails are closed this week as of deer hunting going on in the area.

Winter Wonderland conditions Sunday morning with fresh snow!! We woke up to a solid 4″ of dry snow….just enough to groom for the first time this year. We groomed about 2.5km of trail including Suicide Hill. Groomed the trails that has been recently cleared of leaves etc so the timing was perfect! A quick ski after grooming found nice conditions for the first ski of the year.

Trail Report

Hard to find anything to complain about in the weather other than being a little dry. The fall color around Maplelag this year has been nothing short of spectacular. As far as the variety of color this year, it has been one of the best years we can remember. We hit our peak around the lodge the end of last week but the woods are at their peak right now providing scenic beauty. Plenty of sunshiny days to go along and a mix of cool and seasonable temps.

The trails are in great shape and ready for winter. We have been mowing where needed and brushing out underbrush near the trail head. Bullhead lake trail mowed on Wednesday which is one of the earliest dates on record. The mountain bike course is in fantastic shape, a few leaves coming down as we are at the peak of fall color but riding conditions are about as good as it gets other than a leafy surface. Latest bike trail report.

Trail Report

Cool and damp conditions. Not much rain to report but enough to settle the dust and give the flora a little drink.  The trails are in great shape and have been mowed regularly this  summer, preparing them for winter!   The woods are lush and green despite the drier conditions this spring and summer and thanks to rainfall earlier this month but very dry again now. The lake level is at the lowest we have ever seen.  The leaves are showing signs of change, hinting fall and cooler months are soon approaching! Great time to be in the woods!

The mountain bike trails are in great shape. We have been mowing on the ski trails and cleared out the brushy areas on the singletrack.  Latest bike trail report. The trails are closed to motorized traffic and horse travel.
