We believe there is magic in all seasons at Maplelag. Memberships provide the opportunity for you to enjoy what the resort has to offer year-round while deepening the community connection of the Maplelag family.

Memberships come with more benefits than our old season passes, including: all-season trail access, sauna access, day passes to share with friends/family, gift certificates for the Maplelag shop and special member-only perks.

What are the different membership options? How do I know which is best for me?

We have three membership options — 

Classic: for individuals and families.

Community: for groups and businesses; and 

Legacy: for thosewho want to support Maplelag’s mission to inspire adventure, fosterwellness and strengthen the bonds between people and nature for years to come.

Will Season Passes Still be Available?

Beginning November 2026, memberships will replace season passes. Memberships will give you access to Maplelag year-round and be valid November 1-October 31. We understand this is a change to some but hope everyone will find enjoyment and connection in spending time at Maplelag in all seasons.

Will Day Passes Still Be Available?

Day passes for both adults and youth will continue to be available anytime of the year. Kids 10 and under are welcome to enjoy Maplelag for free with a parent or guardian.

Classic Memberships include day passes making it easier for people to share Maplelag with their friends and family.

What’s Next for Maplelag?

We believe Maplelag is located in a special place and it’s our calling to share it with others. Our expansive multi-sport trail system is created on the belief that being immersed in nature brings out the best in all of us. We strive to provide outdoor themed experiences that give all guests a sense of comfort and belonging, leaving them feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.

The loss of the main lodge in October 2022 forever changed us and you —

Although it was devastating in many ways, it provided us the opportunity to rebuild.

We’ve rebuilt most of the cabins — adding kitchens and renovating gathering spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms.

We’ve transformed the Brandt Cabin into the Hygge — now serving as ourmain gathering space at the heart of the Maplelag.

We’ve rebuilt the Great Northern to host groups of all sizes. While in the past we focused heavily on winter lodging, we’ve opened overnight lodging to guests year-round.

We’ve added a second wood-burning sauna and seen the benefits of people enjoying the tradition of gathering in the sauna and taking a dip in Little Sugarbush Lake.

We’ve built new relationships with local and regional groups to bring special events to Maplelag.

Maplelag is a second-generation family-owned and operated resort located near Callaway, Minn. With the mission of providing nature-focused experiences, wellness and community connection, Maplelag features over 80km of purpose built trails, newly renovated cabins and both indoor and outdoor gathering spaces for groups.Since 1973, Maplelag has contributed over 10 million dollars to businesses and service personnel.

Maplelag is unique in that it does not receive any state or federal funding fortrail development and maintenance like many other systems in the state.

Groomed trail includes segments Feeling Lucky, Winter Bjorps, SukkerWest, North Star extension, Twin Lakes Bridge loop, and Twin Lakes “Race Loop” which includes the Hudson’s Hula loop. The Twin Lakes loop includes the ski trails of Twin Lakes (start of) and Wavy Gravy. Follow the FatLagchilada or fat bike signs to enter Hudson’s Hula. This is a more rider friendly loop and combined with the groomed trail on the inner system, makes for a nice loop of 15km. 

To begin the “Special Edition” loop, head to the main trail head and follow signs to the big LagChilada sign to enter Feeling Lucky. After Feeling Lucky loop, head counter clockwise on Skaters Waltz to ride the other segments.  

Bullhead Bootleg loop is not groomed. Hopefully we have it groomed out for riding in March and April….some of the best months of fat biking at Maplelag!
