Happy July! Typical July weather in place and overall it has been great conditions for working in the woods this summer as we have begun mowing on the ski trails and continue working on the mountain bike course. Different wildflowers popping up along the trail and sloughs each week and lot of wildlife sightings this month. The woods have exploded to a lush green and have filled out nicely with many colorful mushrooms.  Right around 5″ of rain the month of June.

Good seeing folks out on the trails this spring. Trails are open to the public for day use. Most trail work has been focused on the mountain bike trail but we also continue cleaning up deadfall from last summer’s storm, using the blocks to split for firewood. The ponds and sloughs active with waterfowl and loons have been numerous on Little Sugarbush. Ice went off on April 19th. 

Thank you to everyone that comes to Maplelag and supports the trails. A MN State trail pass is not required to use the trails at Maplelag. The Maplelag trails are self funded by operations with no grants or state funding.
