Trail Report

A beautiful weekend in the woods. Quite a few folks from the wedding weekend enjoying the beautiful weather hiking, biking and running.  It has been a fantastic season of fall color. The leaves around the lodge hit their peak last week and quite a few have come down with recent wind. The woods are in their peak providing some fantastic color. Combined with the incredible late September/early October weather, one of the best times of the year to be in the woods. We can’t recall a September that has been as tranquil, weather wise, as this one. Won’t be long until things change…FAST!

The ski trails are in excellent conditions and looking great for the winter.  We completed mowing/clearing/brushing Bullhead trail last week and have been working on Roy’s Run and North Loup this week. With record level water tables, it was difficult to work on these trails but with two months of dry conditions, we are now able to work on these trails including filling in trenches made by beavers who used the trenches to connect all the sloughs filled with water.  We flagged a new loop for the snowshoe trail and it is now cleared and ready for snow!   We will continue to touch up until the snow starts flying!  We have also been cutting trees cleared from the ski trail and splitting for the old sauna and warming house. The mountain bike course is riding nicely and in great shape other than leaves covering the singletrack. We will blow leaves off the singletrack once most the leaves are down from the trees.  Latest bike trail report.
