We are enjoying some great conditions for the end of March after a storm earlier this week dropped 8″ of fresh snow. We have been grooming Skaters Waltz and North Loup for skating and skiing is very nice. Gets a bit softer/slower mid afternoon but staying cool and keeping the snow in place. We plan on grooming again Sunday morning. Great time of the year to be in the woods with the sounds and sights of spring and the long days and bright sunshine.
Total snowfall this season has been 88″. We are closed for the season for lodging but grooming select trails until the snow is completely gone. Trails will be open at no charge with no services available. If you are a non-season ticket holder, please call us in advance if you wish to ski. 218-375-4466. Thanks!
Tuesday evening snow/sleet started to fall. We went out skiing after a inch or two of sleet had fallen and was some really fun skiing! We woke up to 8″ of fresh snow Wednesday morning. Winter returns!! We packed and groomed Skaters Waltz and skiing was very nice in the afternoon. Although the temp remained below freezing, the intense March sun softened the southern exposed areas but otherwise great Spring skiing. We will groom Skaters Waltz again in the morning and also plan on grooming North Loup for skating only. We have been skating on skaters and North Loup and find North Loup hanging on to excellent coverage with no signs of thin spots. We will keep skiing until the snow is completely gone!

Despite temps above 32 the past few nights, still good snow coverage in the woods and on the trails. We had some skiers on the trails this weekend enjoying the spring conditions and late season skiing. We have been skating on skaters and North Loup and find North Loup hanging on to excellent coverage with no signs of thin spots. We will keep skiing until the snow is completely gone!

Warm weather to start the week as melted down some of the snow but folks still out on the trails skiing. Skiing bit soft and slow in the afternoons during the warmest part of the day but still plenty of snow to make for a nice outing in the woods. Very good spring skiing conditions. A great time of the year to be in the forest. The woods are alive with the sounds of spring and the smells of the trees beginning to “open” up from the cold winter. Looks like slightly cooler weather on Friday which will make for faster skiing but warming up again over the weekend to provide nice spring skiing again. We will groom select trails when the timing is right. Still great skiing on most trails with proper timing and good attitude!
Total snowfall this season has been 80″. The trails are open for day skiing and the current fee is $15 to use the trails for the day. A complete change in conditions the past 24 hours. After mid winter-like skiing Monday morning, Spring skiing has returned with fast trails this morning and a bit of light rain that passed through. Clearing in the afternoon with intense sunshine and lower 40’s for temps. Still tons of snow in the woods and some great skiing to be had if timed properly. We will groom a bit before the weekend on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, North Loup and Skaters Waltz. Other trails not being groomed but remain open except Bullhead.
