A gorgeous day on the trails after yesterday’s snow storm dropped around 6″ of snow on the Maplelag trails. Trees flocked beautiful this morning with white and sun peeking out middle of the afternoon highlighting the conditions. Skiing this morning was typical of October snow with slushy and sticky conditions underneath but still a treat on Halloween day. Around 3km of trail was packed in the afternoon and should be good skiing for the evening and tomorrow morning before warmer temps move in and most likely melt most of the snow. More leaves coming down before the snow but still oak leaves hanging on that would be good to come down before the snow flies for real.

Around 6″ of snowfall yesterday as a afternoon storm left up to 10″ just 12 miles northwest of here. More photos from skiing on Halloween on the trail report page.
Third time the month of October we have seen accumulating snow. Trail report with latest photos on the trail report page.
For the third time this month, we experienced accumulating snowfall. As of 9pm Friday, close to 6″ of snow had fallen and 8-10″ reported just west of here in Waubun and Callaway. With the ground not frozen and almost an inch of rain before this snow it is pretty sloppy but plenty of good snow for some skiing. It is fun to see the white and very pretty at Maplelag this afternoon!! Still early in the year for the snow to stay for good but a reminder winter is getting closer and closer.
