A very nice winter day on the trails. Light snow falling most of the day accumulating to about an inch. Temps in the lower teens and a light wind from the northwest.  The large group of Canadians at Maplelag this week organized their traditional “ski games” in one of the soccer fields and the Eden Prairie ski team had a time trial on Twin Lakes with a handful of Detroit Lakes skiers. Other skiers enjoying the very good to excellent conditions on the classic trails. A few rough spots on the lake crossings from top water issues otherwise the trails are in great shape and skiing is about as good as it gets. We are planning on re-setting some of the tracks tomorrow morning and will put a track on the side of North Loup in addition to grooming the skate lane on North Loup and the Skaters trails.

Another great day on the trails. Sunny and clear with temps in the teens. Little bit of wind in the afternoon but protected in the woods. All trails are open and groomed for classic skiing. Skating only trails groomed on North Loup, Skaters Waltz and Skaters Extension. We typically hit the trails around 5am during the Holiday season to prepare the trails for the day so the trails can set up before skiers hit the tracks etc. We will groom the skating trails again tomorrow morning and set new tracks were needed on the classic only trails. Skiing is about as good as it gets right now. Trails are starting to firm up with just a few soft and rough spots here and there. The top water areas on the lake crossings have frozen over and skiable throughout.
