Summer like weather! A warm and dry week. The woods have exploded with flora with a nice variety of wildflowers on the forest floor. Nice seeing riders out this week and a few walkers.
Most trail work has been focused on the mountain bike trail but we also continue cleaning up deadfall from last summer’s storm, using the blocks to split for firewood. The grass is starting to grow nicely on the ski trails and we will begin the first phases of ski trail mowing soon.
The ponds and sloughs active with waterfowl and loons have been numerous on Little Sugarbush. Ice went off on April 19th.
Thank you to everyone that comes to Maplelag and supports the trails with season pass purchases. A MN State trail pass is not required to use the trails at Maplelag. The Maplelag trails are self funded by operations with no grants or state funding.
