Trails are open. Froze down just enough last night to keep the deck firm. Should soften as the day passes. Will be skiable, expect variable conditions. Didn’t get above 32 yesterday and with cloud cover the snow stayed intact. Trails open and groomed with track set include Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, Twin Lakes, JibFly and Mother North Star. Top picks are Sukkerbusk, Sap Run. Twin Lakes is skiing well, use caution on the first downhill and extra caution on all downhills. A 3km loop is groomed for skating starting out of the soccer field and using much of Skaters Waltz and can be skied either direction. No tracks set on this loop but open for no track classic skiing.
Great seeing everyone out to enjoy the special bonus late season skiing in April! We will have the trails open until at least Wednesday noon. Depending on the weather will determine if we can be open Thursday and beyond. We will classic groom probably one more time but try to have the skate loop groomed into later week.
72″ of snow this season from November 15th-April 4th. We began grooming on November 17th and groomed daily on the entire trail system, only missing a few days on the last grooming March 19th.
Thank you to everyone that comes to Maplelag and supports the trails with season pass purchases and day passes . A MN State trail pass is NOT required to ski at Maplelag. The Maplelag trails are self funded by operations with no grants or state funding.
