Trails are open. Late season conditions. Temperature has been above freezing for over 48 hours keeping the trails soft and wet and deteriorating the base. Best trails to classic ski include east side of Sukkerbusk and North Loup . Skaters Waltz for skating bypassing the Bullhead bay segment. (cones will be at Sap Run to block off the Bullhead Bay segment)North Loup does not have track set but open for no track classic skiing. We will keep the other trails open which are covered and skiable but extra caution advised. Areas of thin cover, ice etc. but generally overall the coverage is fair to good. We will not be grooming again until it freezes down hard or new snow. With the base we have, if we pick up an inch or two, the base freezes down again, skiing should improve with a little grooming.
Latest grooming Wednesday evening on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk and JibFly setting new track. Skaters Waltz groomed. Use extra caution if skiing outer trails. There are some thin areas in the start area in the exposed open ares on the trails but in the woods the coverage remains good. We will keep the trails open as long as we feel conditions are safe enough to ski but use extra caution if skiing.
50″ of snow so far this season. We have been grooming daily on the entire trail system since mid November, only missing a few days.

The Maplelag trails are self funded by operations with no grants or state funding. 18 and under day pass is $15, use the summer trail pass option.
Ski rentals are available at a rate of $25 for adults and $15 for 18 and under. Snowshoe rental is $10 a person. There is no charge for children 6 and under.
Snowfall YTD at 50″ Compacted base on trail 1-8″. March snowfall 1″. Total snowfall in February at 11″. January at 15″. December: 17″. Snowfall in November: 7″. October precipitation (rain) at 2.7″ and around 1″ in September. Total precipitation ytd (rain) at Maplelag is at 25.12″.
