Ski Trail Report

Trails are open A cool start with sub zero temps but looks to warm up nicely today to make for a great day of skiing. Light dusting of new snow will make for slower skiing today. A quiet week on tap at Maplelag with no events. Conditions are “mid winter” with good temps ahead and snow chances middle of the week. Entire trail system was groomed Thursday-Saturday. After 2-3″ of new snow during the week. We appreciate seeing all the new to Maplelag skiers along with the regulars this past weekend. Just Ski.

A lot of sticks and branches coming down with the storm, we have cleared the bigger stuff and continue clearing the smaller sticks. Groomer’s choices for classic include Roy’s Run, Wavy Gravy, JibFly and Sap Run. All skate trails should be good for skating, albeit a bit slower today. …Just Ski!

Skating on Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, North Loup, Single Green, Kristin’s Kutoff and Eira Bikwadinaa Hill. All other trails are tracked for classic skiing. (Please no skating on classic trails) Sukkerbusk is a great starter trail for classic which feeds the outer trails and crosses most of the inner trails providing a good “lay of the land”. One of the first trails at Maplelag!

We have also have a loop on Little Sugarbush Lake “Lumi’s Loop” with a skate lane and track on each side. This is a fun 1.2km loop that makes for a fun ski at sunrise and sunset and under the full moon!
