Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. Another beautiful day of spring conditions! Hard deck and fast skiing in the morning before softening and slowing in the afternoon. 10am to 2pm recommended times to ski. Great to see so many people out this weekend….thanks for the support, we appreciate it very much! Saturday late afternoon classic grooming on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, Bullhead Bootleg Loop, Loon Return and Twin Lakes. Evening skate grooming on Skaters Waltz and North Loup. All other trails groomed Friday afternoon/evening.

The trails have a solid base of nicely seasoned snow. On average 6″ of compacted base on trail. Snow depth in woods on average 18″.

During “spring conditions” we groom later in the day which sets up the trails a bit harder after a hard freeze, but that is with intention and purpose. Harder tracks will last and take longer to soften when it warms up and sun is beating down. During “spring” conditions, we welcome the warmer temps in the afternoon to soften up the trails for skiing and grooming later in the day and evening.

We will continue grooming daily, as conditions dictate, working on select trails each day to have fresh tracks and always try to have the main trails Sukkerbusk and Sap Run in best condition possible.

Skating on Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, North Loup, Single Green, Kristin’s Kutoff and Eira Bikwadinaa Hill. All other trails are tracked for classic skiing. (Please no skating on classic trails) Sukkerbusk is a great starter trail for classic which feeds the outer trails and crosses most of the inner trails providing a good “lay of the land”.

We have also have a loop on Little Sugarbush Lake “Lumi’s Loop” with a skate lane and track on each side. This is a fun 1.2km loop that makes for a fun ski at sunrise and sunset and under the full moon! Groomed 2/11
