Trails are open. A snowy start to February with 4″ or so of new snow past 24 hours. First three inches very dense and last inch or so very fluffy. Still high humidity but the snow has a dry loose feel. That’s the beauty of winter and snow…always different! We will be out grooming today, focusing on the course for Tuesday’s Section races and try to groom out some of the outer trails. The fresh snow and moderating temps making for very nice skiing. We won’t be overly aggressive on the grooming this week, but instead enjoying the fresh powder while we can!
A full day of grooming Sunday, focusing on the inner trails and courses for the Section race to be held on Tuesday. Tracks reset on Twin Lakes as well. Trails not groomed after the new snow on top since last weeks groom but some have been skied in.
Section 8 Nordic Ski Championships will be held on Tuesday February 3rd on portions of Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, all of JibFly and most of Mother North Star. All other 50km of trail will be open for day skiing. Recommended to use Loon Return to access Sukkerbusk to the western trail and northern trails. Schedule below.

Skating on Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, North Loup, Single Green, Kristin’s Kutoff and Eira Bikwadinaa Hill. All other trails are tracked for classic skiing. (Please no skating on classic trails) Sukkerbusk is a great starter trail for classic which feeds the outer trails and crosses most of the inner trails providing a good “lay of the land”.
We have also have a loop on Little Sugarbush Lake “Lumi’s Loop” with a skate lane and track on each side. This is a fun 1.2km loop that makes for a fun ski at sunrise and sunset and under the full moon! Groomed 1/29.
43″ of snow so far this season. We have been grooming daily on the entire trail system since mid November, only missing a few days.
