Ski Trail Report

Trails Open
Cooler day on tap with a stronger wind making it feel more like January after cold front moved through last night dropping around an inch of fine grained snow. Areas of small drifts in the open area and spots tracks drifted in otherwise very good skiing despite slower conditions today. Temps look favorable for continued nice late season skiing into Monday. Even with cooler temps, conditions can change and use a little extra caution skiing the end of season or “spring skiing”.

We are closed for the season for lodging/ski packages but the trails will remain open for day skiing until a projected date of April 15th, weather and snow conditions permitting.

Grooming Report Grooming today on most of the inner classic trails and Twin Lakes. Skate trails will be groomed Saturday morning and more classic. The decks are solid and firm! Grooming Thursday on all skate trails, and new track set on Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy and JibFly. New track cut Wednesday on Rootin Tootin, North Loup, Sukkerbusk and Sap Run.

Nature Notes: Wildlife bit more active with the slow transition to spring. We have been seeing porcupines along the snowshoe trail and Roy’s Run. We have also seen hawks, owls near JibFly and North Star, fox, deer of course, pileated woodpeckers and tons of tracks. Eagle sightings near Twin Lakes return at eagle view.
