Trail Report

Another beautiful frosty day on tap. No new snow past 24 hours other than the frost that fell from the trees early afternoon. Temps falling in to the lower single digits last night firming up the base nicely. Grooming today on all the skate trails, a new track on Twin Lakes. Grooming yesterday morning on Skaters Waltz and we also combed and set a track where possible on Mother North Star. Ski patrol at noon found fast and firm tracks and fun skiing! Yes, the base is thin for this time of year and of course we all want more snow but the snow we do have is skiing nicely and some fun skiing to be had. A few thin and rough areas to watch out for. Classic skiing fair to good and skate skiing good to very good. Top trails for classic include North Loup and Twin lakes and Skaters Waltz best trail for skating. The snowshoe trail is open and is packed.

Surface conditions are frozen granulated/powder mix with a dusting of frost snow on top. Compacted base on trail is 2-4″ and snow depth in the woods is 3-6″. Total snowfall since January 1st is 8″. Around 28km tracked for classic, 15km groomed skate and all other have a packed base or skier made track. A few trails in the AMA area will not be groomed this year. Check the trail report board in the main lodge for the latest trail information.

The trails are open. Trail passes for day skiing are $15. Ski rental available at $15 a package. During mid week, lunch and day trail pass package available for $25. Call 218-375-4466 or email at [email protected] for more information
