Ski Trail Report

Trails open. Incredible day of skiing. Sunshine, transformation of the last snowfall to a silkylike sensation and daily grooming has conditions the best of the year. Not the best they can be per the groomer’s standards, but the best of this season.

Grooming update: We have been grooming daily resulting in the entire trail system being groomed 1-4 times the past four days. Tracks now set on Bullhead return and the Bootleg Extension loop. Singletrack classic trails groomed this morning. Trails are in great shape and the groomers will be taking a break on the 24th and 25th. Grooming will resume on Sunday the 26th. Since we started grooming on the 12th of November, we have only missed a few days and those days were usually spent shoveling on thin areas etc.

Christmas Skiing. The trails will be open for skiing on the 24th and the 25th but the lodge will be closed. No ski rental or services available. Day and season passes can be purchased here.

SkinnySki.Com First Hand Reports. Thanks for the reports!

Classic skiing on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen, JibFly, Rootin Tootin, Twin Lakes, Mother North Star, Wavy Gravy, Island Lake trail and Roy’s Run. Please no skating on the classic trails. Crossing between Twin Lakes is still a bit rough but much improved with the latest snowfall. Bullhead/Bootleg has now been tracked on the Bootleg extension and return. Lucky’s Loype is adventure skiing, no grooming on the AMA segments.

Fat bike Trail Report

Trails open. Few soft areas otherwise very nice riding.

Grooming update: Bootleg and inner loops groomed Wednesday the 22nd and Monday the 20th. Twin Lakes loop groomed Tuesday December 21st. Fat Bike trails have been groomed 5-6 times this season.

Signs marking the route for the inner loops are in place and ultimately direct the course for the “FatLagChilada”. Twin lakes and SukkerWest singletrack can be accessed from the driveway. To access the start to access Bootleg, head to the start of Skaters Waltz to the right. We have groomed on the far right side of Suicide Hill for uphill travel. Access to Bootleg has been groomed on the lake. Use trails at own risk and assume all responsibility. Skaters Waltz is open for fat biking when conditions are firm. SukkerWest is recommended trail for beginner riders. Trail difficulty on outer loops is intermediate to advanced.

Trail passes help offset grooming and maintenance costs. Trails have already been groomed multiple times this year. Thank you.

Ski Trail Report

Trails open. Good to very good early season conditions. A great weekend for our first ski camps. Trails were skied on hard, few areas washed out on the classic tracks but holding out great with excellent coverage.

Grooming update: Skate trails combed again this morning. Select classic trails to be groomed as well. Best tracks for classic found on Roy’s Run, Sap Run, and JibFly. We groom almost daily on at least some portion of the trail system. The days we do not groom, we spent shoveling on thin areas before the most recent snow and always patching thin spots along the way in effort to keep conditions the best possible with the snow we have to work with.
