Hard to top days like today on the trails. Middle teens for temps, sunshine and no wind with a little bit of frost falling from the trees. The trails are holding up great despite any new snow since the Christmas storm. Frequent grooming keeping the trails in good shape and skiing is very nice. The only negative a few leaves here and there and other forest matter, thanks to the squirrels and porcupines which add to the nature experience. Grooming this morning on Skaters Waltz, touching up the middle of the skate lane, and also Suicide Hill where a track was set on the side for “training”. We will groom most of the trail system on Thursday and Friday mornings for Martin Luther King weekend skiing.
A great weekend of skiing on the trails. Sunshine both days with temps rising to the middle teens. Despite any new snow since the Christmas storm, the trails are in good shape and skiing nicely. This past weekend we had the Rochester Area Ski Club along with the Visitation school joining in for a time trial on Skaters Waltz. Photos below.
Beautiful morning on the trails. Temp not quite as cold last night as forecasted with the low “only” at -9 and the temp climbing above 0 before lunch. Total sunshine and light winds. Trails groomed up very nice this morning. All skate trails were groomed and new tracks on Mother Hen, Sukkerbusk, Rootin Tootin, JibFly, Lucky’s Loype, North Loup, Twin Lakes, Double Green and Kristin’s Kutoff. The tracks on the other trails are in great shape with a few leaves here and there as the only negative. Should be a fantastic weekend of skiing with favorable forecast.
