Trail Report

Another fine day on the trails. Skiing rated very good to excellent. Windy early that brought down a few leaves but sunshine the rest of the day and wind settling down along with a few lingering flurries. Skate loops groomed and new tracks on Rootin Tootin, Mother Hen, Single Green and Double green early morning. Single green is a nice option to get to the start of Bullhead lake trail. A newer trail not on the map but one of the longest downhills on the Maplelag trail system.  Keeping an eye on the weather as anywhere from 1-5″ of new snow forecasted for Tuesday. Grooming tomorrow most likely during the day and depends on the weather but most likely the majority of the next grooming will be on Wednesday morning after any new snowfall.

Trail Report

Hard to beat a day like today with sunshine, very light winds, temps in the mid teens, dry powdery snow and solid tracks . We started out cold at -12 but by noon, the reading was above 0.  Lots of positive reports from the trail including “could not be any better”. New tracks set on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, JibFly, and Lucky’s Loype. All the skate trails, Skaters Waltz and the extension and North Loup groomed as well. Grooming  in the morning most likely on the skate trails again and the classic tracks are in great shape so will be left alone as we keep our eye on some possible weather moving in!!

Trail Report

After mist early in the morning, precip changed to snow mid morning and light snow falls as of noon time. Total accumulation expected around one inch.  Grooming this morning on Sap Run, Mother Hen, Mother North Star, Sukkerbusk, Twin lakes, Bullhead with fresh tracks being set and, Skaters Waltz and North Loup groomed for skating. The glazing was mixed in with fresh snow from underneath making for some great skiing and the light snow falling now is taking off the edge on the other trails that were not groomed this morning. The drizzle late last night good for putting mositure in the trails and plenty of snow to work with to provide some nice conditions. The trails are in great shape and a nice weekend of skiing on tap. Grooming in the morning on the skate trails and classic trails not groomed today. Although the temp was around 32 yesterday, there was no “melting”. The previous days temps were in the teens and even colder for lows with negative temps, which has the base froze down nicely. The streets in town that are salted might have standing water but the trails are dry.

Trail Report

A cozy day on the trails as the temp hovered just below freezing, overcast and haze/mist. Snow had a soft feel but great skiing being reported. Roys’ Run and Island Lake trail tracked in the morning. These trails remained soft all day due to the high humidity and warmer temps, but again, good reports from the folks skiing these trails. After this morning’s grooming, the entire trail system has been groomed 1-3 times since Monday. About 50km of trail set with tracks and 13km groomed for skating. Chance of snow tonight and grooming in the morning as needed.
