Trail Report

A great weekend on the trails. Tracks and skate lanes holding out nicely from Thursday and Friday grooming. Bit cooler temps making for easier waxing and more mid winterlike conditions. Tracks hard underneath from melting a few weeks ago but helping set up deep and solid tracks. Will will be grooming as needed during the week and touching up the course for the Lotvola Cup to have the best conditions possible.  There is plenty of snow so we are expecting a great surface condition for the race.

Compacted base 8-10″. Snow depth in woods 1-2 feet. 100% open on 64km. 57 km tracked for classic, 13km groomed for skating.   Skaters Waltz/ extension, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating.  There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.

Total snowfall  this season has been 75″.  The trails are open for day skiing and the current fee is $15 to use the trails for the day.

Great skiing on the trails. A return of cold temps as the temp had a hard time getting above 0 today than falling during the afternoon. Light dusting of snow in the afternoon. The entire trail system groomed the past three days with all skate trails being groomed Friday morning and new tracks on Lucky’s Loype, Roy’s Run, Rootin Tootin, Single and Double green, Twin Lakes and Wavy Gravy. Great weekend to classic ski with the cooler temps.  6″ of fresh snowfall this week, falling on Monday and Wednesday. Touch up grooming this weekend as needed.

Trail Report

A great day on the trails. The fifth grade classes from Rossman out for the day for full day of skiing, sledding and broomball. Lot of kids on skis for the first time. We groomed most of the trails last night including all the skate lanes. Still evidence of the crustiness underneath but all in all the trails are in great shape and skiing very nice. We will be grooming most of the trail system again Friday morning. 6″ of fresh snowfall this week, falling on Monday and Wednesday.

The entire trail system groomed the past 24 hours, grooming in the 3-4″ of fresh fluffy snow that fell Monday morning. Wednesday a snow band set up over Maplelag and a solid 3″ fell during the day. The trails are in excellent condition. Still evidence of the crustiness underneath but all in all the trails are in great shape and skiing very nice. We will be grooming the skate trails Wednesday evening and setting new tracks on select classic trails.
