Trail Report

Pretty much a perfect day for the DL Invitational Nordic ski meet. Definitely crisp in the morning at -8 but with bright sunshine, light winds and high temp of +8, a great day on the trails. Always nice to see over a hundred kids off from school enjoy the trails and being in the woods.Results and full photoset on skinnyski.com

Excellent skiing conditions. Compacted base 7-10″. 57 km tracked for classic only, 15km groomed for skating. All trails are groomed for classic.  Skaters Waltz/ extension Single and Double green, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating.  There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.
Total snowfall  this season has been 49″.  The trails are open for day skiing and the current fee is $15 to use the trails for the day.

Winter Trails Day

Winter Trails Day, Maplelag Resort.  The public is invited to join members of the Laurentian Lakes Chapter of the North Country Trail Association for skiing and snowshoeing during the day.  There will be a trail presentation, silent auction and dinner beginning at 4pm.  For more information, cost, and to register, contact Ray Vlasak, 218-573-3242 or [email protected]

Excellent skiing conditions. Compacted base 7-10″. 57 km tracked for classic only, 15km groomed for skating. All trails are groomed for classic.  Skaters Waltz/ extension Single and Double green, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating.  There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.  Today we set tracks on Bullhead and Island lake trails. This afternoon we groomed the course for the DL Invitational ski race tomorrow. The course groomed up very nice and looks awesome. Might be a bit soft on the pole plants for classic. The trails used for the race will be Sap Run, Mother North Star, and Skaters Waltz (10-3). All the other trails are open for skiing during the day.
