Trail Report

A return of awesome temps. Fresh tracks set Saturday on Sap Run, Mother Hen, Sukkerbusk, Rootin Tootin, Bullhead and the extension, Roy’s Run and Island Lake trail. A crisp day with firm tracks and flurries most of the day. The snow is dry and powdery and excellent skiing conditions.   Compacted base 8-16″. Snow depth in woods 2-3 feet. 100% open on 64km. 57 km tracked for classic, 13km groomed for skating.   Skaters Waltz/ extension,, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating.  There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.

Total snowfall  this season has been 67″.  The trails are open for day skiing and the current fee is $15 to use the trails for the day. Article in DL paper about Maplelag and the trails.

Trail Report

Another dusting of snow overnight. Skate trails combed and fresh track set on Lucky’s Loype. The entire trail system has been been groomed during the week with light snowfalls each night. Another warm day but the temp staying under 32 degrees. The snow is dry and powdery and excellent skiing conditions. The streets in town might be slushy but the snow remains dry on the Maplelag trails. Trails will be groomed throughout the weekend as needed. Compacted base 8-16″. Snow depth in woods 2-3 feet. 100% open on 64km. 57 km tracked for classic, 13km groomed for skating.   Skaters Waltz/ extension Single and Double green, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating.  There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.

Trail Report

Just under 2″ of fresh snow overnight. The new snow was groomed in on all the double track classic trails, setting fresh  tracks and a new track set on North Loup. Skate lanes left alone and skiing very nice with a firm base and new snow on top. The temp stayed under 30 degrees today but felt like a day at the beach considering a week ago it was almost 70 degrees colder!! The streets in town might be slushy but the snow remains dry on the Maplelag trails. Skate lanes will be groomed Friday morning and select classic  trails will be groomed. Trails will be groomed throughout the weekend as needed. Compacted base 8-16″. Trail Report

Quite a day on the trails. Fresh grooming and mild temps making for really nice skiing. Temp is almost 70 degrees warmer than a week ago. Almost to warm to be running around in long johns. The 3″ of fresh snow earlier in the week has been groomed in to the entire trail system. All the double track classic trails groomed with the Pisten Bully/front end renovator. North Loup, Bullhed and Lucky’s Loype groomed with Ginzu groomer and skate lanes combed.  Wednesday night light snow falling with an inch or so forecasted. Depending on total snowfall will determine grooming on Thursday. Most trails will be touched up on Friday for the weekend.  Compacted base 8-16″.
