Trail Report

A nice day of early season “rock” skiing.  Cold temps overnight set up the trails that had been groomed last night.  We didn’t have any new snow today from the storm that hit central MN but had 2″ Friday and a couple inches combined, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The new snow improved the skiing and also the coverage on the trails. We have 4km of trail open for skiing. No tracks set. Some rough and thin spots here and there but beautiful in the woods with the fresh snow and nice skiing for mid November. There is no charge to use the trails. No services in the lodge. Park, follow the grooming and ski! Best to start by cabooses and end out on double green. Thin in the start area.

The snow covering the trails is a great start as this snow should stick with cooler temps forecasted and a nice little base for the next snowfalls. Once we receive 2-3″ of dense snow, we will resume packing and grooming the trails.

Many of the smaller lakes and ponds are frozen over and the ground is slowly starting to set in frost. Little Sugarbush was about 85% covered with ice  Thursday morning after cold temps the night before but opening up a bit from wind today.   Riding on the mountain bike trails is done for the year and the last report of the year is posted.

The trails are in great shape and ready for winter. A few sticks coming down from the recent wind we will clear when are on the trails.

Trail Report

January like weather on Thursday. Early morning temps in the low single digits and not getting much above 20. Today we did a little roll packing, mainly to pack out Suicide Hill and prepare for snows to come. Later afternoon we were out checking the trails and skiing was not bad on Suicide. Definitely some rough and thin spots getting out there but a beautiful day in the woods and great to be gliding through the woods and enjoying the crisp temps.

Trail Report

Feels and looks like winter with snow falling off and on most of the day accumulating to an inch or two. This is a great start as this snow should stick with cooler temps forecasted and a nice little base for the next snowfalls. Quite a wild day of weather. Calm, clear and sunny conditions in the early morning before a big time snow squall, break in clouds with a return of the sunshine than big wind and snow flurries late afternoon. Temps staying cool in the lower 30’s. Many of the smaller lakes and ponds are frozen over and the ground is slowly starting to set in frost.  Riding on the mountain bike trails was great early on and the last report of the year is posted.
