Trail Report

Pleasant start to August with morning temps in the 50’s and fresh air and sunshine! True to the month of July, a early morning rain shower the last day of July yesterday resulting in around a half inch of rain. Overall July ended up slightly above normal rainfall keeping the woods and grounds green and lush.

We have been busy on the ski and mountain bike trails mowing/brushing and constantly clearing deadfall and cutting/splitting firewood. A few storms and wind events this summer bringing down the usual amount of trees, no structural damage to any buildings.

The woods are very lush and green and vibrant with wildflowers.

Mountain bike trails are open, weather permitting. Click on the mountain bike report for latest conditions. Trails are closed to horses and motorized use.

Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails open. Tacky/damp conditions after early morning rain shower followed by clearing and sunshine.

Moisture this week very good for setting up the dirt work we are doing on the Hudson’s Hula segment on Twin Lakes singletrack and the recent dirt work on Bullhead Bootleg loop.

We have been busy on the trails clearing deadfall, brushing out overgrown areas, blowing out forest matter and dirt work on the berms on the Bullhead Bootleg loop. This week we are resuming work on the Twin Lakes singletrack loop doing dirt work on Hudson’s Hula.

Bugs are out…keep the wheels moving! Not as bad when temps below 70.

Be aware for changing conditions and any falling forest matter such as sticks, branches etc.

New maps are available at the parking lot kiosk. Click here for new map online. The main trail head is near the resort with other trails accessible from the driveway for the Twin Lakes and Sukkerwest loops, county road 110 and hiway 34 for the Bullhead Bootleg loop. We will also have the LagChilada challenge in place again for this season. Pink signs will be placed marking the course. Twin Lakes has a “sport” option to bypass the first part that has more roots.

Summer pass can be purchased here. The passes helps offset maintenance costs. The Maplelag trails are privately owned and operated and we receive no grants or assistance for operating.
