All 25 miles of LagChilada mountain bike trail open. Dry/tacky riding surface. A very light rain shower this morning keeping the deck fresh and making for great riding conditions. Today we will be working on the original Twin Lakes loop, blowing out trails and dirt work tuning lakeside.
Most recent trail work includes fresh blown trail on Pete’s Porkie, Bjorps, Hudson’s Hula and the bridge loop of Twin Lakes. A few loose corners where not blown out. We have cleared most of the course of sticks and branches and also cut all the recent trees that have come down from wind earlier in the week… but be aware new ones can fall anytime…..Keep the Wheels Moving!

The summer we have been clearing out overgrown areas and blowing out trail and also a little bit of dirt work. Best riding has been on Feeling Lucky, SukkerWest, Citizen and Sport Comp Expert loops.
Lots of wildlife sightings recently. Many does and fawns moving through the forest. The woods provide a a thick canopy and protection from the sun on hot days. A nice assortment of wildflowers and still a few random mushrooms popping up despite the dry weather.
Be aware trees/organic forest matter can fall at anytime and assume full responsibility when riding.
Maplelag trails can be described as as “old school” or classic style mountain biking.
For first time riders to Maplelag, a good beginner loop is the Citizen loop and Sukkerwest at the end of the driveway. A intermediate to advance loop is the Sport Comp Expert loop. The entire 25 LagChilada loop is open and all the LagChilada signs are out. Click here for more about the challenge!
Thanks for the support of the Maplelag trails and maintenance.(Maplelag is privately family owned and operated resort with no outside funding. We are happy share the dirt and appreciate the support!)
