Trail Report

Today pretty much a perfect day on the trails. Like I said yesterday, you can’t take anything away from other days this winter when there is great snow on the trails but with upper teens/lower twenties, sunshine, frosted trees and great skiing on the trails, it doesn’t get much better for being in the woods. The streets in town might be getting slushy but the trails at Maplelag are not salted and snow temps in the upper teens keeping the snow white and fresh. Grooming this morning on North Loup (skate and classic) Skaters Waltz and Skaters Waltz extension. Looks like some weather moving in but should be some great skiing for the weekend. Looking at the forecast, grooming most likely on hold until early Saturday morning.

Trail Report

An incredible day on the trails. Absolutely no wind, sunshine and upper teens for temps rising to the lower 20’s and a light coating of frost/fluff on the trails. Can’t imagine how the conditions could be better! Not taking anything away from any other day so far this season because any day with snow on the trails is a great day! Fresh grooming this morning on Bullhead lake trail and bootleg extension, Loon Return, Double Green and Mother Hen. Compacted base 6-10″ on average with some spots over a foot. Snow depth 1-2 feet in the woods.
