Ski Trail Report

Trails are now closed for the season. (Be sure to check back on the trail report page for updates as we transition to summer.) We hope to have the mountain bike trails open in 2-4 weeks. Please be patient to let the dirt dry out proper!

A special end of season ski Thursday capping off a great month. Thanks everyone who made it a great season and supported the trails at Maplelag. April skiing was one of the best April’s we can recall.

Around 3-4″ of new snow on Wednesday. Late evening after cooling down and crusting over, we groomed the 4km late season loop. We groomed out a skate lane and also set a track. Skiing was very nice into the afternoon, especially classic.

With the grooming in April, this is the 6th consecutive calendar month we have groomed this season. First grooming was back on November 13th, 2021.

Season total of snowfall at 123″ after Wednesday’s snow. Snowfall on Sunday breaks the previous record of 118″ of total snowfall in a season. Considering the dry summer and fall, the precipitation will bring the water tables back up to normal when the snow all melts and the frost goes out.

We are hopeful the trails will dry out in 2-4 weeks for hiking and mountain biking. Trails are closed to all activities and horses and atvs. Being on the trails before the frost is out can do the most damage.

Special late season classic skiing, April 21st, 2022.
Cutting and clearing deadfall off the trail. We will be on the trails clearing when the ground is frozen. It will be 2-4 weeks before we can open up the trails for silent sport activities.
