Entire 25 mountain bike course is open and has been cleared and blown out this past week. Damp and wet conditions this morning after nearly 1.5″ of rain the past 24 hours. Riding will be a bit greasy today with high humidity, matching dew points and chance of drizzle most of day.
Good seeing folks out this week enjoying the early season conditions and having wheels on the track which helps ride in the lines and buffs the deck. A welcomed light rain shower late morning helping settle the dust and tack up the track. The trails remain open and should set up for a great day of riding Sunday.
The trails have dried out very fast thanks to wind, very low humidity and no new precipitation. The surface is still a bit soft in a few spots but overall very good early season conditions. One thing different this year is we didn’t have as deep as frost so there was less heaving after the snow melted and trails like Twin Lakes are better riding earlier in the season as a result. We have taped all the key intersections and signs are out at most singletrack segments. Any singletrack that is not marked where it crosses ski trail, continue straight on the singletrack. Reference our map or TrailForks or Strava for guidance.
Like this winter, trail users are welcome to use the Brant cabin for a changing area and there are also bathrooms.
