After a week of Spring like conditions, colder weather moving in on Thursday afternoon with a bit of light snow. Big time wind as well. We held off on grooming Thursday evening due to the wild weather and plan on grooming Friday morning to put the trails in the best condition possible for the Presidents weekend. Expect crusty and icylike conditions. Compacted base 8-10″. Snow depth in woods 1-2 feet. 100% open on 64km. 57 km tracked for classic, 13km groomed for skating. Skaters Waltz/ extension, Suicide Hill and North Loup groomed for skating. There is also a track set on North Loup for classic.
Total snowfall this season has been 69″. The trails are open for day skiing and the current fee is $15 to use the trails for the day.

A check of the trails late Tuesday found the snow holding out great with fantastic springlike skiing. Fast/icylike in the morning and getting slower as the day goes on. Beautiful to be in the woods! Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen and Skaters Waltz groomed Monday evening. We will resume grooming on Thursday evening most likely after this warm spell and the transition to cooler weather with possible snow. Compacted base 8-16″. Big time warm up over the weekend but still some fantastic skiing all day Saturday and Sunday morning. Sunday getting a bit soft but still a good number of skiers hitting the trails. We did freeze down last night putting a crust layer on the trails. We will groom a few select trails today but needs to freeze down a bit more before proper grooming can occur. After a crisp and cool week, temps warming a bit in to the weekend. The tracks and trail have been holding out great. A few areas of drifting in the open and off the ponds, sloughs and fields. Also a bit of organic matter from woodpeckers and woods life. We will be grooming most of the trail system on Friday morning for the weekend and touch up grooming as needed through the weekend.
