Ski Trail Report

A great day on the trails and good seeing folks out. We had a 3km loop open and groomed after snow this week was groomed into the existing crusty base.

Snow falling Saturday evening and we plan to be out in the morning rolling and packing any new snow. Focus will be on the inner trails, setting track on Sukkerbusk if conditions warrant. Plan is to work on the outer trails Sunday evening and Monday.

The 3km loop starts near the freight house near the lodge and includes three segments consisting of Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz. Follow the groomed segments using the soccer field trail to access the loop. Suicide Hill is also groomed out. The end of return of Sap Run and Skinny Field are used as connectors to access the segments. The base is hard and bumpy but the surface has some good texture. Watch for icy areas when walking in the parking lot!

Snow tonight and tomorrow. We are always ready to pack and groom any new snow!

Ski Trail Report

3km of trail open for skiing. Freestyle, no tracks set.

Light dusting of snow overnight. After the snow stopped we groomed on a early season loop compressing the damp snow to the base. We were back out on this loop this morning and afternoon, grooming and conditioning the snow digging into the old base as much as we could to mix with the new snow. The base is thin with areas of thin cover with some icy spots underneath but skiable with a little extra caution.

We skied this afternoon after all the grooming and found better than expected conditions. Nice early season skiing!

The loop starts near the freight house near the lodge and includes three segments consisting of Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz. Follow the groomed segments using the soccer field trail to access the loop. Suicide Hill is also groomed out. The end of return of Sap Run and Skinny Field are used as connectors to access the segments. The base is hard and bumpy but the surface as some good texture and should set up even more overnight. Watch for icy areas when walking in the parking lot!

Ski Trail Report

Warm day melted much of the new snow that fell Tuesday evening. Thankfully froze down hard last night and preserved some of the base. This afternoon we were grooming and patching thin areas on the “early season loop” grooming the crown, and tenderizing the frozen down base. A ski later found skiable conditions. If we can pick up snow this evening, groom it in proper and provide improved skiable conditions, we will have this loop open for skiing Friday afternoon and the weekend. We also are grooming a connector to Suicide Hill that has good coverage.
