Ski Trail Report

A warm day on the trails but as of 6pm there was still coverage on the trails and we are optimistic for snow tonight with accumulations possible. If any new snow overnight, we will groom if the base has froze down enough. We might need a half day to cool things down before grooming on Thursday.

We have been working on select trails this week, building up thin and exposed areas.

Grooming report: This week we are focusing on Skaters Waltz, JibFly, Sap Run and Sukkebusk for the upcoming ski camp weekend building up thin and exposed areas.

When we receive enough snow to reset tracks, classic skiing on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen, JibFly, Rootin Tootin, Twin Lakes, Mother North Star, Wavy Gravy, Island Lake trail and Roy’s Run. Please no skating on the classic trails. Crossing between Twin Lakes is still rough. Take skis off to get through or possible to make a fun loop by using both Island and Wavy trails (and Twin). Bullhead/Bootleg has been packed and combed on the Bootleg extension and return. Lucky’s Loype is adventure skiing, no grooming on the AMA segments.

Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, North Loup, Suicide Hill, Single Green and Kristin’s Kutoff designated trails for skating.

All trails are one way except Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz. Skiing correct direction, especially in early season, helps us maintain the integrity of the base. Thank youi!

Fat Bike Trail Report

The entire “FatLagChilada” course has been groomed with some segments being groomed a second time. Bootleg and inner segments riding very nice, bit firmer than Twin Lakes. Warmer temps on tap today and tomorrow. Please ride before noon today, tomorrow probably best to be off trails.

Early season conditions, the deck will be a bit soft but after rider traffic and subsequent grooming, should start to firm up. Great to have the snow and a awesome start to the season!

Signs marking the route for the inner loops are in place and ultimately direct the course for the “FatLagChilada”. Twin lakes and SukkerWest singletrack can be accessed from the driveway. To access the start to access Bootleg, head to the start of Skaters Waltz to the right. We have groomed on the far right side of Suicide Hill for uphill travel. Access to Bootleg has been groomed on the lake. Use trails at own risk and assume all responsibility.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. Despite warm temps the past few days, the snow is holding out good providing early season skiing. Best trails for classic are JibFly and Sukkerbusk. Skaters Waltz and the Extension loops skiing well for skating. Today we worked on Skaters Waltz, building up the exposed areas including the Kamikaze segment. We groomed the entire Skaters Waltz at dusk pulling up drier colder snow and setting new texture so it could set up overnight.

Be aware for random rough spots, more so on the outer trails and here and there on the inner trails. Areas of thin cover, organic forest matter including leaves from wind and woodchips from woodpeckers working trees on the side of the trail etc.

Grooming report: This week we will be focusing on Skaters Waltz, JibFly and Sukkebusk for the upcoming ski camp weekend building up thin and exposed areas. Other inner trails will be worked on as time allows.

Tracks have been set for classic skiing on Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Mother Hen, JibFly, Rootin Tootin, Twin Lakes, Mother North Star, Wavy Gravy, the first part and the last part of Island Lake trail. (middle loop packed and combed) and Roy’s Run. Most of the double track trails only have one track set. We are preserving the other side for future tracksetting.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. A very nice weekend of skiing, great seeing everyone out and reports from skiers were good for early season conditions. Thanks for the reports! Got a little bit warmer in the afternoon Sunday softening up the trail than glazing over a few areas. Couple thin areas opening up as well. Still some good skiing on tap for today. Best trails for classic are JibFly and Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz for Skating. Extension loops for skating also skiing nice.

Still some rough spots, more so on the outer trails and here and there on the inner trails. Always be aware for areas of thin cover, organic forest matter including leaves from wind and woodchips from woodpeckers working trees on the side of the trail etc.
