Trails are open for skiing. Coldest morning of the season but sunshine taking off the edge, wind has settled down and beautiful winter scenes in the forest. Folks are out skiing and we were out grooming this morning setting new track on Sap Run, JibFly, Sukkerbusk and also set track on Mother Hen, Poki Loki and Mother North Star. Skaters Waltz roll combed. Continued dustings of snow has made for nice skiing as we continue to groom daily going back 9 days.
Great seeing so many people out this weekend despite the cooler weather. Saturday we groomed on 40km of trail, mostly rollpacking and setting track on Sukkerbusk, JibFly, and Sap Run later afternoon.
The Brant cabin is open as a warming house.
Early season conditions, watch for rough spots, areas of thin cover and unmarked obstacles but very skiable and reports from the skiers have been great. Trees are frosted nicely and lots of tracks in the woods making for a great outings in the woods. Skiing is improving with each little dusting but use caution where snow might be covering rough spots on downhills.
Please do not skate on trails packed for classic.Skating on Skaters Waltz and the extension loops and North Loup.
