Trail Report

A light rain shower overnight, around a quarter of an inch. The temperatures have been pleasant, a bit cooler for this time of year. The woods are drying out after a very wet cycle but very lush and green thanks to abundant moisture in the spring. Many wildflowers popping up each week. We have started the first mowing on the ski trails as we continually clear deadfall and blow downs from the wind events this spring .

June continuing like May as far as moisture. It was a very wet month of May with right around 8″ of rain. Since January 1st, we have received almost 13″ of rain.

The rain has been welcomed with the relatively dry conditions the previous 6 months and to keep the soil damp and moist for the trees we planted this spring. The lake, ponds, sloughs and water tables are pretty much at normal levels now.

Mountain bike trails now open. (click here for updates)

Summer ski trail work will include fixing rutted areas, working on drainage and removing rocks and filling in low spots in between almost daily mowing when not raining.

Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails open. Tacky/hardpack surface conditions. Light shower last night keeping the deck fresh and tacky. Trail tuning continues this week, shifting to dirt work to improve drainage, berms and corners. Leaf/debris clearing on the trail later in the week after a big push last week…overall the trail is rolling great!! A few mosquitoes out, no deer flies….keep the wheels moving!

The woods have really filled out the past week with the leaves coming full circle and wild flowers popping up on the forest floor. We always try to clear any new deadfall right away but limbs, branches etc. can fall down at any time. As always, good seeing folks out and thanks for the support!

Trail Report

A beautiful weekend in the woods. The temperatures have been pleasant, a bit cooler for this time of year which is keeping the bugs at bay, and a break from the recent rains.

We had a very busy week on the trail clearing blow downs from strong winds. Overall the woods are very lush and green with abundant of variety of wildflowers popping up on the forest floor.

June continuing like May as far as moisture. It was a very wet month of May with right around 8″ of rain. Since January 1st, we have received almost 12″ of rain. The recent warm weather after this wet period has really brought the forest to life with lush green. The leaves are full circle and many wildflowers popping up each week. We have started the first mowing on the ski trails as we continually clear deadfall.

The rain has been welcomed with the relatively dry conditions the previous 6 months and to keep the soil damp and moist for the trees we are currently planting for our tree planting project this spring. The lake, ponds, sloughs and water tables are pretty much at normal levels now.

Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails open. Tacky/hardpack surface conditions. A beautiful weekend for riding with some of the best conditions of the season.

We had a very busy week of trail cleaning and blowing debris off the trail after wind and and rain earlier in the week. The majority of the 25 mile LagChilada trail system has been blown out with leaf blowers. A few segments here and there with some forest matter but overall great conditions for early June with pleasant temps and no bugs to speak of.

The woods have really filled out the past week with the leaves coming full circle and wild flowers popping up on the forest floor. We always try to clear any new deadfall right away but limbs, branches etc. can fall down at any time. As always, good seeing folks out and thanks for the support!
