The bike trails on the west side are open (Twin Lakes singletrack loop)
Consistent cold weather has frozen down the deck surface after snow earlier in the week. The snow has melted out from the warm ground but still coverage here and there. Use a little extra caution but otherwise very rideable and fun conditions! Bullhead Bootleg loop is also available using the Goat Ranch road (county road 110)
Winter returns!! Close to 4″ of fresh snow this week. Just enough snow for the first ski and grooming of the year! We groomed on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, Eira Bikwadinaa hill and a segment of Skaters Waltz as part of our “early season loop”. We were back on trail this morning using one of the “Ginzu” groomers to flatten the deck and help freeze down the trails a bit more since the ground is still very warm. Temps hovering in the mid 20’s are helping as well. We skied in the afternoon and found very skiable conditions. There are a lot of rough and thin spots but with caution, some diehard early season skiing to be had. We will have the groomed trail open for anyone looking for early season skiing. Use extreme caution. Not recommended for beginner or first time skiers.
We completed the clearing of the trail system with Bullhead Lake trail and Bootleg extension being cleared before deer hunting. Overall it has been a great fall for trail work. We try to have the trails as cleared as possible so the frost can set when cold temperatures come and we can groom and open the trails on minimal snow.

Winter returns!! Around 2″ of fresh snow as of 11am. Just enough for the first ski of the year! Chance of a couple more inches possible throughout the day. With temperatures in the mid 20’s, the snow should stick around and start cooling and freezing down the ground. The ground is still very warm with a little melting below. If we get a few more inches, we will try rolling/grooming on the early season loop. Great to see white and winter return!
Note: The trails remain closed and will open when consistent cold weather with frozen ground and hopefully snow! Season passes can be purchased here.
We completed the clearing of the trail system with Bullhead Lake trail and Bootleg extension being cleared before deer hunting. Overall it has been a great fall for trail work and we will continue working on the trails near the Maplelag property until the ground freezes and snow flies for good and stays! We try to have the trails as cleared as possible so the frost can set when cold temperatures come and we can groom and open the trails on minimal snow.

A very wet and welcomed 24 hours with 1.25″ of rainfall. Cold weather being ushered in as we keep eye on the next weather event….SNOW!! Anywhere from 1-5″ possible with cooler temps to follow. We are ready to groom any snow if it makes sense and have a few km of trail ready for early season skiing. Stay tuned!
Note: The trails remain closed and will open when consistent cold weather with frozen ground and hopefully snow! Season passes can be purchased here.

The bike trails remain closed . We hope to open again later this month, weather permitting. We need consistent frozen ground to allow for winter riding even if no snow. Once again we plan to groom and have 25km of fat bike riding. If conditions allow, we also open up the skate ski trails for fat biking.
Thanks everyone that came to Maplelag this season to ride, race and support the trails making it another great season of riding in the dirt…year 34 in the books!
Nice job to everyone riding the LagChilada challen this season as well!
