Frosty Friday with trees coasted with frost in the morning and beautiful conditions on the trails. Not quite as cold this morning with temp in the lower teens. Grooming this morning on Sukkerbusk, Twin Lakes, JibFly, North Loup and Skaters Waltz. North Loup groomed for skate and classic now. Ski conditions are very good with the only negative being a few scattered leaves and other forest organics. The entire trail system was groomed Wed-Fri and should be some nice skiing on the weekend. We will groom as needed over the weekend but tracks should be in great shape all the way through. Compacted base 5-10″ and snow depth 15-30″.

Has been pretty much a perfect week so far on the trails. Morning lows in the negative single digits rising to the mid 20’s with brilliant sunshine and little to no wind. Grooming this morning on Island and Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy, JibFly, Loon Return, Double green, Kristin’s Kutoff, Suicide Hill and Skaters Waltz/ extension widened and groomed. Few leaves and other organic matter scattered throughout from wind over the weekend but other wise very good to excellent conditions on the trails. Compacted base 5-10″ and snow depth 15-30″. Grooming planned Thursday on Rootin Tootin and Mother North Star. All other trails groomed Tuesday morning.

A fantastic February day on the trails. After a morning low of -5, temp warmed up nicely to the mid 20’s with bright sunshine and bluebird skies. Wind settled down after blowing stiff the past few days which brought down a few ironwood leaves and other organic matter. Grooming this morning in effort to clean up the tracks on Sap Run, Mother Hen, Sukkerbusk, Bullhead, Lucky’s Loype, North Loup and Roy’s Run. Grooming Wednesday morning planned on Island Lake, Wavy Gravy, Twin Lakes, JibFly and Skaters Waltz and extension. Conditions rated good to excellent. We are saying good because of the leaves that came down but with fresh grooming the skiing is very good to excellent.
If you have skied Sap Run this year you have most likely seen the porcupine atop one of the trees, chewing on the limbs and branches. Joel Jackson, Maplelag guest this past weekend, watched the porcupine for 20 minutes before it finally turned and had a look down below. Latest trail report on the trail report page.
