Maplelag grooms its trail with both snow cats and four stroke snowmobiles, grooming 64km of trail for all levels of ability. During the heart of the season, 15km is groomed for skate, 15km groomed singletrack and 34km groomed doubletrack. We also have around 6km of snowshoe trail. We work extensively on the trails whenever possible to have them in the best condition possible for the first snow falls. New to the grooming fleet this year will be a new custom Ginzu groomer with double tracksetters. Trail conditions are updated almost daily on the trail report page.
Around 1″ of new snow last night. While it was snowing, Skaters Waltz, Suicide hill, Mother Hen, Sap Run and part of Sukkerbusk was groomed. This morning Twin Lakes, JibFly and Sukkerbusk will be groomed. The little bit of snow should improve the conditions but we still need 3-4″ to have good skiing and set tracks. Rock skiing is possible with caution. The base is super thin but people have been skiing. There are areas of thin cover and other unmarked obstacles. Snowplowing or pushoffs will be to the ground. Clear and sunny on Wednesday, highlighting the winter wonderland conditions with thick frost on the trees! It is great to see everything surrounded in white! The ice is thick on the lake for skating with 5-8″ being reported and we have a nice area cleared off by the fire pit. We will resume flooding the rink on ground now colder weather is in place.
We will be making a decision on the Lotvola Cup later today.
This past weekend we had the St Paul Highland Park ski team for a training camp. The skiers were on the lake performing drills, time trial and technique work. A handful of skiers hit skaters waltz and suicide hill which was skiable thanks to the crusty base. It was great having the team…thanks so much for coming up! Think Snow!

Cold temps overnight froze down the snow that remained on the trail and with a dusting of snow on top, skiing was possible this morning on a very thin base. Full trail report on the trail report page.
