Fat Bike Trail Report

Fat Bike Trails Open Best riding is on Twin Lakes and SukkerWest singletrack loops. Monday we groomed the SukkerWest loop and the bridge section on Twin Lakes. Tuesday we plan to groom more trail on the Inner loops and Twin lakes with plan to have the “InnerWest” loop (all the inner singletrack open for fat biking, the skate trails to connect and Twin Lakes and SukkerWest) groomed by Thursday.

Bullhead Bootleg has filled up with snow from wind and recent storms (over a foot of new snow since last grooming) and might be a while until we can have this trail in better riding condition. Even without bootleg there is 12km of trail available to ride if using Skaters Waltz. We hope to have the other skate loops firm enough by the weekend to ride on for over 20km of riding.

To access Twin Lakes singletrack only, take driveway down and start at bridge section. SukkerWest also accessed off the driveway for a good starter/beginner loop.

The FatLagChilada includes the east side of Bullhead Bootleg loop and the west side of Twin Lakes. Ski trail segments and inner singletrack in between along with crossing of Bullhead lake consists of the “FatLagChilada”.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open.  A cool night setting up yesterday’s grooming. Should be a really nice day to ski! All the trails were groomed 1-2 times o Friday/ Saturday. Trails not groomed, (Loon Return, Wavy Gravy, Island Lake) will be groomed today. The snow is skiing a bit slower due to the dryness and cold temps but overall very good skiing.

It has been a very snowy 7 days with nearly a foot of powder! We are grooming on the trails this morning, plan is to start with Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, Twin Lakes, Bullhead Lake/Bootleg, Rootin Tootin and Roy’s Run. Skaters Waltz will get a comb after these classic trails are groomed. All the trails were groomed Friday and Saturday and even if not groomed right away today will be nice skiing in the fresh snow…..Just Ski!

A great day hosting the Section 8 Nordic Ski Championships. Good job to all the skiers the competed and congrats to all participants that made it to state. Thanks to all the coaches, volunteers, and workers that helped make it a special day. Good luck to all the skiers at the state meet next week!
