Trails are open. Temperature has been staying below freezing this week and the base of snow we have is holding out well and skiing good, all things considered. We plan to keep the trails open the rest of the week and into the weekend and probably will close the trails on Monday to preserve the snow. Best skiing will be in the mornings if it does get warmer than forecasted but with thick cloud cover and zonal flow, we could stay around or just below 30 degrees through Sunday.
Tracks are set on Sap Run, JibFly, Sukkerbusk, Mother Hen, Poki Loki, Loon Return, Rootin Tootin, Wavy Gravy, Mother North Star, Twin Lakes and North Loup. Please do not skate on trails packed for classic. Skating on Skaters Waltz and the extension loops and North Loup only.
Top choices for classic skiing are Mother North Star, Rootin Tootin and North Loup.
Early season conditions, the base is still thin watch for rough spots, areas of thin cover and unmarked obstacles but very skiable and reports from the skiers have been good.
The Brant cabin is open as a warming house. The main lounge area has a Kuerig for hot chocolate/coffe/tea and there are simple snacks available to purchase on honor system. Store is open on the weekends, usually in the afternoon.
Fat bike trails are open and groomed. Latest fat bike trail report.
Please no walking on the ski or fat bike trails. Snowshoe trails are open but snowshoeing possible anywhere except the ski trails.
Trail passes can be purchased on the products page.
Maplelag current conditions including data from the new Maplelag weather station can be found on the Weather page. Total snowfall since November 1st at 12″. Current snow depth is 3-5″ and compacted base on trails is 2-3″.
