Trails are open for skiing on 23km of groomed trail. Today will be the last day we will be open for skiing for the season and trails will be closed at sunset. Textbook spring conditions this morning with a hard freeze last night setting the base up firm before softening mid morning. Great skiing up until noon or so before getting soft and slow. We did sneak in one more grooming on Sap Run setting track on both sides and combing out the 4km loop on Skaters Waltz.
Last night we groomed on JibFly for the first time since the most recent snow, setting one track. We also reset the tracks on Sap Run and groomed out 4 of 5km on Skaters Waltz. The end of Sap Run groomed for the connector to make a complete loop. The trails will be closing at sunset today. There is still a deep base of snow but with nights expected to stay above freezing and the difficulty of getting in and out of the Maplelag driveway, we will be closing the trails for the ski season.
Has been great seeing everyone out enjoying the late season conditions and visiting with many of you. Thank you!
Trails open and groomed for classic skiing include Sap Run, Sukkebusk, and North Loup. Skaters Waltz including the big hill down to Bullhead Lake and back and a skate lane on North Loup groomed for skating.
We will no longer be fat bike grooming this season. We had some great riding conditions over the weekend, Monday and Tuesday before the deep snow covered the trail. Full report here:
9″ new snow past 7 days. Total snowfall this season at 90″. Compacted base on trail 4-18″.
