Trail Report

Warming up to above 0!! Light wind and sunshine for most of the day making for great conditions on the trail today. Around 15km of track reset on select trails and all skate trails groomed including Suicide Hill.  On tap for grooming Wednesday will be the bootleg extension of Bullhead lake trail.

Around 4″ of light fluffy snow on Saturday.  Entire trail system groomed 1-4 times the past five days. Only trail not groomed is Bullhead lake trail.  Bullhead lake trail has skier made track for old school type skiing and a nice adventure ski to mix things up from the groomed.  Bootleg extension on tap for grooming Wednesday.

Spectacular day for the DL Invite on Tuesday the 8th with sunshine, light wind and balmy temps. Temperature was in the mid 30’s but favorable dew points and cold base underneath kept the snow dry and silky.  Photos and results from meet yesterday on Skinnyski.com

Around 60km of trail groomed,  48km of trail tracked, 9km groomed for skating. Around 8km with skier made track on Bullhead trail, Lucky’s Loype, single and double green and Kristin’s Kutoff. Non AMA segments of Lucky’s groomed. Bootleg extension of Bullhead lake trail slated for grooming next week.

Fat Bike trail on Twin Lakes Singletrack open and groomed multiple times already.  Latest grooming January 12th. Latest report: Fat Bike Report  Please do not walk on fat bike trail.

Total snowfall this season at 28″ Snow depth in the woods 13-24″, compacted base where groomed 4-9″.

Day skiing is allowed for guests not staying at the resort by purchasing a trail pass. Pass can be purchased online.  Ski rental available at $15 per day. Snowshoes and fat bikes also available for rent. If not staying at the resort, it is best to contact us during busy times for availability. Lunch is also available for sale for day skiers during the midweek. Reservation is required.

Even though our snow totals might be lower, we can provide good skiing on less snow. We spend every day possible in the spring, summer and fall clearing key trails to be able to open on low snow. We groom the first snowfalls even if not skiable after, to prepare the base for future snowfalls and earlier skiing on less snow.  We take pride and use decades of experience when grooming and preparing the trails for skiing to have them in the best condition possible “whatever the weather”.

Please no  walking on the ski trails or fat bike trails. There is also snowshoeing available, on trails and anywhere not on the ski trails.
