Fat Bike Trail Report

Fat Bike Trails are open. Best conditions of the season. A light dusting of snow this morning. Chance of snow this afternoon. New snow will make for nice riding today on top of the rock solid, recently groomed level base We will plan grooming the entire FatLagChilada again on Friday for the weekend.

A great day on Wednesday riding with group rides in the afternoon and evening. Riding with lights some of the best riding!

Tuesday the “InnerEast” (Bullhead Bootleg and inner singletrack segments) were groomed. Friday we groomed the Twin Lakes singletrack loop. Grooming setting structure/texture with the new snow.

The entire FatLagChilada is open. The inner singletrack and Bullhead Bootleg loop (InnerEast loop) is riding the best. Use a little extra caution, especially on Twin Lakes but overall very good riding.

The FatLagChilada includes the west side and east side loops of Twin Lakes and Bullhead Bootleg singletrack loops. Ski trail segments and inner singletrack along with crossing of Bullhead lake consists of the “FatLagChilada”.

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open. Just under an inch of light beautiful dense snow this morning. The little bit of new snow improving the conditions and made for great skiing today. Reports from the skiers were very good! We combed all the skate lanes early this afternoon and reset track on Wavy Gravy to Mac’s Mess than took Island Lake back to the start. The tracks on the other trails are holding form where recently groomed and the new snow should ski in nicely. Friday morning we will be back combing all the skate trails and touching up a few classic trails.

Wednesday we renovated and reset one track on Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes. Monday we groomed on the start and finish segments of the Western trails, renovating and cutting new tracks.

A fun day on Tuesday hosting the Moorhead Nordic JV and JR High race. Chilly start to the day but susnine and no wind making for a very nice ski day.

Groomer’s choice for classic is Roy’s Run. A few rough spots there and there but overall nice skiing. Sukkerbusk always skiing well, the trail we groom the most and a good feeder trail to all the outer trails. Twin Lakes should be improved with the new snow on top of yesterday’s track setting.

Classic only skiing on trails with machine set tracks: Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, JibFly, Mother Hen, Rootin Tootin, Mother North Star and Loon Return. Roys Run, Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy and the first and last part of Island Lake trail now tracked as well. North Loup has a track on the side and a skate path. The crossing between Twin Lakes is a bit rough as well as the marsh areas on Bullhead lake trail. Take skis off and walk for the adventure!

Skating on Skater Waltz, the extension of Skater Waltz, Single Green climb, Kristin’s Kutoff, Eira Bikwadinaa hill and North Loup. Also possible to skate ski the last part of Bullhead lake trail as out out and back.  Please do not skate on trails outside of the designated skate trails. Thank you!

We have been grooming and skiing since November 20th. .7″ new snowfall past 48 hours. 20″ of snowfall this season, compacted base on trail 1-4″. Snow depth in woods 3-7″

Ski Trail Report

Trails are open.  Another beautiful day to ski! Sunshine to start with clouds moving in. We are keeping our eye on possible snow Thursday. Even an inch would bring conditions to the top step. Either way, a great day to ski today!

A fun day on Tuesday hosting a JV and JR High race. Chilly start to the day but susnine and no wind making for a very nice ski day.

Today we will be renovating and reseting the tracks on Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes. Monday we groomed on the start and finish segments of the Western trails, renovating and cutting new tracks and groomed the course for the JV JR High classic race today.

The trails are skiing well and the tracks are holding form from last weeks grooming. The inch or so of new snow before the weekend helping improve the conditions combined with daily grooming on all of the trail system. Hard crunchy base, some trails skiing a bit faster than others but everything very skiable and overall the reports have been good from skiers. We will reset most tracks later this week. Skate trails will be groomed daily through the week starting today.

Groomer’s choice for classic is Roy’s Run. A few rough spots there and there but overall nice skiing
