Mountain Bike Trail Report

Trails are open. A few low areas damp/wet and some soft spots after rain yesterday morning otherwise very rideable and overall good early season conditions.

Watch for deadfall here and there. We have cleared out most of the inner segments and North Loup Gnar to the north and will continue to clear throughout the spring. We are in the process of putting out signs and course tape to mark the trails which will take a few weeks to complete, weather permitting.

We are working on a new trail map and should have completed by June 1st. Click here for link to old maps. The main trail head is near the resort with other trails accessible from the driveway, county road 110 and hiway 34 for the Bullhead Bootleg loop. We will also have the LagChilada challenge in place again for this season. Pink signs will be placed marking the course.

Mountain Bike Trail Report

Select trails are open! Extremely dry conditions this week has firmed up much of the course. We have the inner, east (Bootleg) and north (North Loup Gnar) segments open for riding. The west segments (Twin Lakes and Sukkerwest) need 5-7 more days of drying. With the rapid melt and rainfall last weekend, there are a few low areas holding water to ride around. We are in the process of blowing out the trails and clearing deadfall/downed branches etc. Good early season riding conditions for Maplelag. We will be marking the course the next week or so. If you have not been to Maplelag before to ride, it might be best to wait a week or two until the inner segments are marked fully.

Trail Report

After a dusting of snow kicking off the start of the week, warm and more seasonable weather in place. The warm temps has all but melted the snow from the trails and frost is slowly coming out. Around 1.25″ of rain over the weekend. Just a few signs of spring on the forest floor but the woods alive with the sounds. Many waterfowl species enjoying open water everywhere and sounds of the first loons heard as they wait for the ice to go off the lakes.

We have been clearing deadfall off the trails when the ground has been frozen but waiting for trails to dry up to resume. We also will be planting trees in the next week or so.

Mountain bike trails will open as soon as the frost is out and dry up completely. There are a few segments that are rideable but ski trails need time to dry out and set up. Click on the mountain bike report for latest conditions.
