Ski trails are open. Early season conditions. An inch or so of new snow today falling on top of the crusted base. We have around 10km of trail roll packed and combed for early season skiing. No tracks set, freestyle skiing. Watch for thin areas, rough spots etc. We will groom Thursday morning on the trails we have been grooming this fall. The new snow and grooming should help improve the conditions.
Trails groomed include Sukkerbusk, Skaters Waltz, the “easy” loop on JibFly and Suicide Hill. The best segments are closer to the lodge.
Fat bike trails will be opening this weekend(Click here on trail report). Lodging for the winter season operations will begin the December 17th weekend. There is no lodging available for winter operations before. Day and season passes can be purchased here. NO services in the lodge at this time. Park in far parking lot where recycling and porta potties are located.

Ski trails are open. With warmer temps forecasted today, best skiing will be before noon and this will help preserve the base. We have around 10km of trail roll packed and combed for early season skiing, thanks to 6″ of snow over the weekend in multiple snow events. First snowfall melted, crusted over and provided a nice base for the second snow event. No tracks set, freestyle skiing on all trails allowed. Trail passes purchased here.
Trails groomed include Sukkerbusk, Skaters Waltz and Suicide Hill. There are some rough spots here and there but overall very skiable. The best segments are closer to the lodge. Temps look to remain cold with critical freezing nights which will help freeze down the base and start setting frost into the ground. With slightly warmer temps possible during the day this week, best skiing will be in the mornings or later afternoon. With warmer weather on Tuesday, please ski before noon if venturing out to preserve the base

We received 6″ of nice snow over the weekend but the ground was warm and on the singletrack the snow insulated the warm soil. We are freezing down at nights and should be able to have the Twin Lakes and Bootleg singletrack loops open for the weekend if the deck is solid enough.
Once again we will be grooming over 20km of trail for fat biking this season.
Grooming fat bike trails at Maplelag, February 13th, 2021. Once again we will have over 20km of fat biking available featuring the Twin Lakes and Bullhead Bootleg singletrack loops.

A wintry weekend with over 6″ of snow since Thursday. Saturday night we groomed for the first time of the year, roll packing segments closer to the lodge totaling around 6km of trail. We will be back out later this evening with plans to open the groomed trail on Monday. Temps look to remain cold which will help freeze down the base and start setting frost into the ground. A great start to the season!
We have had a fantastic fall of trail work and continuing this past week up until deer hunting. The trails are now closed during deer hunting season. We will open the trails again when there is enough snow to groom for the ski and fat bike trails. Lodging for the winter season operations will begin the December 17th weekend. There is no lodging available for winter operations before that but if skiable snow, we will have the trails open for day skiing.
