Ski Trail Report

Trails open with early season conditions. A frosty morning with early morning low down to 7 degrees. Should be a great day on the trails with temps in the upper teens. We have received 6″ of snow the past 5 days and have been grooming daily since it first started snowing November 20th.

Skinnyski.com trail reports

There are no tracks set but trails are open for no track classic skiing. Best trails to ski on for classic at this time are Sukkerbusk and JibFly. Best trail to skate ski on is Skaters Waltz. Recommend to bypass the Kamikaze hill section using Sap Run as a connector. Please do not skate ski on other trails as we prepare them to open and track for classic.

We will be packing on Island Lake and Wavy Gravy trails to the west and Roy’s Run to the north today. Trails groomed Monday include Sap Run, Mother Hen, Loon Return, JibFly, Mother North Star, Rootin Tootin, Sukkerbusk, Skaters Waltz and the extension north, North Loup and Twin Lakes. Although we have been grooming on most of the trail system, we are grooming more to freeze down and prepare the base for the next snowfalls. If venturing on the outer trails, please use extra caution.

Rough/thin/bare spots. (No tracks set.) Recommended to ski on the early season loop that consists of east sides of Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz using Sap Run and Rootin Tootin trails as connectors to make a 4km loop. Sukkerbusk is also good with just a few rough spots.

Part of the bike trails are open for riding. Bike Trail Report.

The Hygge is open for day users to change, warm up with light snacks and beverages including coffee, hot chocolate. Store will be open on a more regular basis once more trails are open. Store will be open Saturday 11/30 from 11am to 2pm and Sunday 12/1 from 12pm-2pm.  Ski rental is available for guests staying at the resort.

Ski Trail Report

Trails open with early season conditions. A beautiful dense snow Sunday evening measuring around 2″. Off and on flurries continue today with intermittent sunshine as the cold front pushes through.

We were grooming on the early season loop last night and were back out today packing, rolling, combing and leveling. Trails groomed today include Sap Run, Mother Hen, Loon Return, JibFly, Mother North Star, Rootin Tootin, Sukkerbusk, Skaters Waltz and the extension north, North Loup and Twin Lakes.

Rough/thin/bare spots. Freestyle surface. (No tracks set.) Recommended to ski on the early season loop that consists of east sides of Sukkerbusk and Skaters Waltz using Sap Run and Rootin Tootin trails as connectors to make a 4km loop. Sukkerbusk is also good with just a few rough spots. The other trails groomed today were mainly to establish a base, not so much to ski on.

There are a lot of rough and thin spots but with caution, some diehard early season skiing to be had. Use extreme caution. Not recommended for beginner or first time skiers.

Bike Trail Report

The bike trails on the west side and east side are open (Twin Lakes and Bullhead Bootleg singletrack loops) We groomed the ski trail to start of Hudsons Hula to bypass the first half of Twin Lake for another option on the west side.

Consistent cold weather has frozen down the deck surface after snow earlier in the week. The snow has melted out from the warm ground but still coverage here and there with a crunchy/firm surface. Use a little extra caution but otherwise very rideable and fun conditions! Bullhead Bootleg loop is available using the Goat Ranch road (county road 110) The inner trails are closed at the moment as we prepare the ski trails.

We completed the clearing of the trail system with Bullhead Lake trail and Bootleg extension being cleared before deer hunting. Overall it has been a great fall for trail work. We try to have the trails as cleared as possible so the frost can set when cold temperatures come and we can groom and open the trails on minimal snow.
