Another excellent day on the trails. Not quite as cold this morning with early morning low “only” at -21. Warmed up to single digits with no wind and bright sunshine making for very nice conditions. New tracks set last night on Roy’s Run, Island Lake, Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy and Loon return and skate lane on Skaters Waltz was groomed. Skiing is very good to excellent with a few rough spots on the lake crossings and a occasional leave as the only negatives. Tomorrow afternoon we will be grooming on Skaters Waltz, Sap Run and Mother North Star to prepare courses for the Detroit Lakes Invitational ski meet on Tuesday. All other trails open and in great shape.
Another chilly day with temp well below 0 but still plenty of skier traffic on the trails. Wind slowly dying down in the afternoon and skiing just fine. Conditions are very good to excellent with a nice base of 6″ or so. A track was set on the side of North Loup Thursday morning as well as fresh tracks set on Rootin Tootin, Mother North Star and Sap Run. All the skate trails were groomed again as well. Bit cooler weather on tap which will make for excellent classic skiing. Dress proper and some great skiing to be had. Grooming planned this evening on select trails.
