Trails are open. Late season conditions. After a very foggy morning, clearing with temperature near 50. Handful of folks out skiing today. Trails groomed Tuesday night skied well on Wednesday. The warm temps and sun did deteriorate the base and open areas melted quite a bit with water running to the start areas. Outside the start areas and south facing segments, the snow is holding out good. We are committed to grooming at least a few trails, mostly focusing on inner trails, while we have overnight guests. Grooming Wednesday evening on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk and JibFly setting new track. Skaters Waltz groomed. Use extra caution if skiing. There are some thin areas in the start area in the exposed open ares on the trails but in the woods the coverage remains good. Looks to be warm again tomorrow before cooling down a bit Friday with snow chances on the weekend. We will keep the trails open as long as we feel conditions are safe but use extra caution if skiing.
Skating on Skaters Waltz, the extension loops, North Loup, Single Green, Kristin’s Kutoff and Eira Bikwadinaa Hill. All other trails are tracked for classic skiing. (Please no skating on classic trails) Sukkerbusk is a great starter trail for classic which feeds the outer trails and crosses most of the inner trails providing a good “lay of the land”. One of the first trails at Maplelag!
50″ of snow so far this season. We have been grooming daily on the entire trail system since mid November, only missing a few days.
