Mountain Bike Trail Report

Mountain bike course is open. Happy Fourth of July! Wet and damp this morning after showers moving in. Should be rideable late afternoon. Rain will absorb nicely and make for continued tacky and ideal riding surface moving forward. Nice seeing everyone out these past few days!

We have been leaf blowing on the entire course and most everything has been blown out the two weeks. We have also brushed out some of the overgrown areas and continue to work on select segments. Feeling Lucky most recent segment and Friday we cleared out “Fargo” singletrack.  Deer flies are out….keep the wheels moving!

The entire 25 mile “LagChilada” course was cleared and blown out this spring and we do our best to clear any new deadfall as soon as possible. Always be aware for changing conditions and assume all responsibility riding.  The Maplelag course is generally described as a classic or natural trail which is rideable shortly after any rain events as the rain is absorbed and drains off naturally.

We have taped all the key intersections and signs are out at singletrack segments. The singletrack segments are signed by name and courses are generally marked for the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series with Citizen, Sport, Comp and Expert. Any singletrack that is not marked where it crosses ski trail, continue straight on the singletrack. Reference our map or TrailForks or Strava for guidance.

The Lagchilada challenge is in place which is a ride consisting of the entire mountain bike trail system. It is marked with both black signs and pink signs. Use the Strava app or guidance.

A good intermediate loop to ride is the Sport Loop and Bullhead Bootleg to the east. A good beginner loop to ride is the Citizen loop.

Like this winter, trail users are welcome to use the Brant cabin for a changing area and there are also bathrooms. Season passes available on our gift shop page.

Trail Report

Happy Fourth of July! Light rain this morning with totals around .25″ after a beautiful weekend and Monday. Total precipitation the past two weeks has been just under 2″. The rain has freshened up the woods nicely and brought the forest floor to life after dry conditions the past three weeks.

We have been busy on the trails this spring and early summer clearing deadfall and cutting firewood and working on the mountain bike trails. We are mowing almost daily on the ski trails and will continue up until the snow flies. Wildlife active and on the move!

The mountain bike trails are open for ridingClick here for latest update. Maplelag trails are closed to all motorized use and horses. We continue with trail tuning as we constantly work on the trails for the next ski season and maintain 25 miles of mountain bike trail.
