Fat Bike Trails are open. Best conditions of the season. An inch or so of new snow the past 24 hours. New snow will make for nice riding on top of the rock solid, recently groomed level base. Today we groomed the Twin Lake singletrack loop.
A great day on Wednesday riding with group rides in the afternoon and evening. Riding with lights some of the best riding!
Tuesday the “InnerEast” (Bullhead Bootleg and inner singletrack segments) were groomed. Friday we groomed the Twin Lakes singletrack loop. Grooming setting structure/texture with the new snow.
The entire FatLagChilada is open. The inner singletrack and Bullhead Bootleg loop (InnerEast loop) is riding the best. Use a little extra caution, especially on Twin Lakes but overall very good riding.
The FatLagChilada includes the west side and east side loops of Twin Lakes and Bullhead Bootleg singletrack loops. Ski trail segments and inner singletrack along with crossing of Bullhead lake consists of the “FatLagChilada”.
Start at Skaters Waltz ski trail and go right to access first singletrack to Bullhead. Access across Bullhead lake is now possible. Ice thickness is 9-11″.
To access Twin Lakes singletrack only, take driveway down and start at bridge section. SukkerWest also accessed off the driveway for a good starter/beginner loop.
Bullhead Bootleg loop is also accessed using the Goat Ranch road (county road 110)

Trails are 100% open. A great weekend of skiing in place! An inch or two of new snow the past 48 hours. The new snow combined with recent and existing grooming making for very nice skiing. As always, use caution for any thin areas, rough spots etc but overall good to excellent skiing being reported.
Friday morning we groomed all the skate trails again and reset tracks on Sap Run and Sukkebusk in the evening. We also set new track across Bullhead lake and the edge of the lake on the west side to the access point to where it connects to Bullhead Lake trail.
Thursday we reset track on Wavy Gravy to Mac’s Mess than took Island Lake back to the start. New track also set on Mother Hen. The tracks on the other trails are holding form where recently groomed and the new snow skiing in nicely.
Wednesday we renovated and reset one track on Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes. Monday we groomed on the start and finish segments of the Western trails, renovating and cutting new tracks.

Groomer’s choice for classic is Roy’s Run and Twin Lakes. Sukkerbusk always skiing well, the trail we groom the most and a good feeder trail to all the outer trails. Twin Lakes should be improved with the new snow on top of yesterday’s track setting.
Classic only skiing on trails with machine set tracks: Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, JibFly, Mother Hen, Rootin Tootin, Mother North Star and Loon Return. Roys Run, Twin Lakes, Wavy Gravy and the first and last part of Island Lake trail now tracked as well. Mac’s Mess in between Twin Lakes is not groomed but skier made track and passable. Might have to take skis off for just a little bit. North Loup has a track on the side and a skate path. The crossing on the north end of Bullhead lake trail is a bit rough. Take skis off and walk for the adventure! Lucky’s Loype and double green not groomed, skier made track. Watch for branches etc. on AMA land.
Skating on Skater Waltz, the extension of Skater Waltz, Single Green climb, Kristin’s Kutoff, Eira Bikwadinaa hill and North Loup. Please do not skate on trails outside of thedesignated skate trails. Thank you!

Trails are open. Just under an inch of light beautiful dense snow this morning. The little bit of new snow improving the conditions and made for great skiing today. Reports from the skiers were very good! We combed all the skate lanes early this afternoon and reset track on Wavy Gravy to Mac’s Mess than took Island Lake back to the start. The tracks on the other trails are holding form where recently groomed and the new snow should ski in nicely. Friday morning we will be back combing all the skate trails and touching up a few classic trails.

Trails are open.Another beautiful day to ski! Sunshine to start with clouds moving in. We are keeping our eye on possible snow Thursday. Even an inch would bring conditions to the top step. Either way, a great day to ski today!

Today we will be renovating and reseting the tracks on Sukkerbusk and Twin Lakes. Monday we groomed on the start and finish segments of the Western trails, renovating and cutting new tracks and groomed the course for the JV JR High classic race today.
The trails are skiing well and the tracks are holding form from last weeks grooming. The inch or so of new snow before the weekend helping improve the conditions combined with daily grooming on all of the trail system. Hard crunchy base, some trails skiing a bit faster than others but everything very skiable and overall the reports have been good from skiers. We will reset most tracks later this week. Skate trails will be groomed daily through the week starting today.

Fun to ski with the MPLS Washburn Nordic team on the outer trails of Bullhead Bootleg and Wavy Gravy on Sunday. Start of the ski was -13 air temperature but no wind and sunshine made for great skiing. Few photos below.
