Twin Lakes singletrack is now open for riding after grooming today. Should set up tonight and be rideable Wednesday morning. Best to get out before noon. We hope to groom out and the inner singletrack by the weekend. With the snow we have on top of the existing rock base, we could have good riding the next month or so provided it freezes down at night. The InnerWest loop consists of select inner singletrack segments, SukkerWest singletrack and the Twin Lakes singletrack loop,
Trails are open. Beautiful mid March day in place. Good seeing skiers out today enjoying the excellent late season conditions. Today we groomed JibFly, Twin Lakes and North Loup setting track. Skaters Waltz groomed skate only. Sunday evening we groomed Sap Run and Sukkerbusk setting doubletrack. Evening ski found real nice skiing. Little soft but dry silky snow for mid March is a treat. Top pick for the morning ski is Twin Lakes. Total snowfall the past 48 hours hours around a foot. Moving forward on the rest of the season. we will be focusing on 20-25km of trail.
Please park across from the Brant for parking. We have not plowed out the far lot after the most recent snow.
Trails to be groomed for classic include Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, Twin Lakes and the side of North Loup.
Trails to be groomed for skate include Skaters Waltz, and skate lane on North Loup.
As we slowly transition to spring skiing be aware of possible variable conditions mid day if sunny or temps near or above freezing this time of year. Waxing can make for much better ski experience, even if you have no wax skis the fish scale zone will work much better if a paste wax is applied to keep the dry base from attracting the moisture in the snow.
Lot of animals on the move and tons of tracks everywhere, especially on the inner trails. Eagles, grouse, porcupines, fox and pileated woodpeckers some of the wildlife sighted….keep your eyes open!
Lucky’s Loype and Bullhead trail are snow covered, no grooming and open for bushwhacking.

Since we are grooming less, it is fine to ski both directions on the trails to mix things up.

Trails are open. Heavy snow falling this morning. Entire FatLagChilada loop was groomed again Friday afternoon before the snow moved in this morning. Looks like will be early next week before we can groom again. Hopefully the second half of this month we can transition to spring fat biking!
The entire FatLagChilada loop consists of Skaters Waltz starting to the right, the main singletrack loops Bullhead Bootleg, Twin Lakes and Sukkerwest. We also have groomed select segments in between to make the “FatLagChilada” loop. The above loops can be ridden separately. To access the inner loops, go to the start of Skaters Waltz and veer right. There are orange signs from that point and at key intersections where to turn to make the full loop. Please only ride on the designated areas for fat biking.
The Maplelag driveway is a good feeder to access Sukkerwest, Bjorps across from Sukkerwest which leads into North Star and crosses the road again to Twin Lakes.
With the hardpack conditions on the ski trails, the skate loops Skaters Waltz, the extension loops and North Loup are open for riding making for around 35km of groomed riding options.
Trails are open. Winter marches on…..more snow falling today with 6-7″ expected. Trails have been groomed daily this week staying on top of the snowfall. We will hold off on grooming until Sunday afternoon once the weather settles down other than possible packing today.
