The second grade class of Roosevelt Elementary hit the trail for a day of sledding, skiing and fun day on the snow. Jay and Jonell's son Jon, is a member of this class.
Although the forecast was for colder temps, the day turned out to be very nice with sunshine, light winds and temps in the lower teens.Maplelag donated the ski equipment
and trail pass for the day. Many of the kids had never been on skis before
and one of the best overheard comments from a student who had never been on skis before was "this has been the best day of school this year". Lot of laughs and good times
with a rice crispie bar to end the day.
Getting ready to hit the trail.

Out on the trail. Jon to the right leading the way.

Lucky along for the fun.

At the end of Mother Hen.

The hills are fun!!

A great day to be on the trails.

In the back bowl on the sledding hill.

Pass on the bumps this time.

Yeehaw!! Catching some air!

Speeds so fast....hang on to the hat....or too loud of a scream in the back?!?!

Ride em' cowboy!

Back on the trail and the hills of Sap Run.

Lots of area in the back bowl.

Who can go down the farthest?

Skiing is fun !!

Two kids asked about the mystery sleds on the wall so Jim explains during lunch. (photo taken by Jens).

Speaking of Jens, he had to go along for the ski after lunch.

Mom's on the sledding hill......gotta go down with her!

Snow tastes good!

Principal made it out for the afternoon as he watches (along with Lucky at the bottom) the students have a great day on the snow.
